Stop what you're doing. Won't you hear me out. I don't find this amusing, sleeping on the couch Your words can be deceiving. All they do is tell me lies But who needs words when the truth is in your eyes Rationalize you may, but deep down you know you're wrong How could you hate me by day, then go and love me all night long. Everytime the phone rings he leaves words on my machine stories of dirty things, I need you to come clean. Whose things are these? They shonuff don't belong to me Please baby, even a blind man could see.

Kick off your shoes there's no need to worry Let's take our time, there's no need to hurry Hand me your coat and make yourself comfy whisper me lies about how much you want me. Take all those feelings you've tamed and contained inside cut the leash and let those feelings run wild Can I get you a drink, are you feeling uneasy tell me you don't really want to leave me. Take all those feelings you've tamed and contained inside cut the leash and let those feelings run wild Ease all my pains, relieve all my sorrows Love me tonight like there is no tomorrow when it's time to go home, remember things my way I'll see you next year come Valentine's day.

OneTwoThree 05:06
You excite me, you ignite me, you invite me to love you from the outside in You inspire my desire to take you higher to a place you've never been Get comfortable I want to make love to you in ways you thought that you'd never know I can tell you're anxious and tired of waiting but please be patient, baby, we can take our time Close the curtains, know your purpose, let's make this perfect baby, let the moonlight shine Get comfortable I want to make love to you in ways you thought that you'd never know Onetwothree, the things that you do to me Fourfivesix, with the soft touch of your lips Seven take me to heaven Eight cuz it feels so great Nine cuz I wanna do it one more time I know you've never done this before but you'll love this for sure, just one kiss is all it takes to set me right You look so lovely, I know you want me, this might be bumpy so won't you please just hold on tight Get comfortable I want to make love to you in places you thought no one could ever find Onetwothree, the things that you do to me Fourfivesix, with the soft touch of your lips Seven take me to heaven Eight cuz it feels so great Nine cuz I wanna do it one more time

I recall a night in September a night I'd remember for the rest of my days I would fall, if only for a while girl when I saw your smile girl, when I saw your face Time stood still, from the moment I saw you from the moment I saw you, time has stood still I wonder how it's taken so long girl but I'm singing this song girl, to show you how I feel Time stood still, from the moment I saw you from the moment I saw you, time has stood still You know if I had one wish it'd be that we'd share one kiss you know girl I'll tell you this I knew it was you, from the moment I saw you Time stood still, from the moment I saw you from the moment I saw you, time has stood still and you know I will do anything for you, I'd do anything for you, you know that I will.

Say Yeah 06:18
After all the stories we've been told seeing what our future holds, say yeah It's getting harder to ignore the love that we'd be asking for, say yeah I never felt my love so free promises to you from me, say yeah I don't mind what the people say I just don't seem to care the only thing that's on my mind is hearing you say yeah No matter what I try to do I can't find words to describe you, say yeah Nothing ever takes the place of seeing that look on your face, say yeah I don't mind what the people say I just don't seem to care the only thing that's on my mind is hearing you say yeah

about

Hope & Diamond

Hope - Looking forward in faith of better things to come.

Diamond - A valued gem whose strength comes not in spite of incredible persistent pressure, but because of it.

This collection of songs reflects, for me, a wide range of experiences, positive and otherwise. My own evolution chronicled, in many ways, by some of the earliest pieces I ever wrote to some more recent ones. Songs I have rewritten and re-recorded dozens of times, and whose reincarnations tend to parallel my own. Some of these songs have been along for the ride, watching me grow up, if not actively raising me from an angsty teenager to an angsty thirty-something.

In August of 2013, I had the pleasure of meeting another angsty teenager, whose passion for his outlet immediately blessed and inspired me. EJ was in SamAsh music stores in Cherry Hill, NJ playing the guitar he had on layaway, slowly chipping away ten or twenty dollars at a time. I remembered those days vividly and fondly.

When I came home I went to Facebook to share just how inspiring it was to meet this young man and asking others to pray for him with me that he be encouraged to continue to pursue himself through his passion for music. Because I’m surrounded by remarkable people, the idea was born to raise money for EJ.

In three days, Project EJ raised over $1200, which were put toward secretly paying off his layaway, buying him any and all necessary accessories and a few months worth of guitar lessons at the store.

It’s really easy to become addicted to the feeling of God using you.

So I recorded this album because I have ideas that I need to birth and send out into the world, but also because I want to find another EJ to serve.

Between the release of Hope & Diamond in August and Thanksgiving 2018, half of anything I make on my music will go toward anonymously giving another young person the Project EJ treatment.

As with everything in life I’ve found, nothing is possible without help and community. From the many profoundly talented people that contributed to this album to the folks who will support it, to the next Project EJ recipient, we are all part of what Dr. King called the “inescapable network of mutuality.”

I am forever and ever grateful to be a part of that with you.
